ESTHETIC CROWNS & MTA IN PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This is a specialized lecture and “hands-on” workshop in pediatric dentistry, which covers MTA use, case selection, and the principles and techniques for sizing, preparation, Fitting and cementation of esthetic crowns (Preveneered Stainless Steel crowns as well as Zirconia crowns) in pediatric dentistry. Clinical recommendations will be reviewed as well as practical tips to overcome common related problems in placing esthetic crowns with controversial issues around cementation, wear, and durability. At the completion of this workshop, the clinician will understand the basic indications and contraindication of MTA in pediatric dentistry, and be capable of case selection, tooth preparation, proper fitting and cementation of esthetic crowns in anterior and posterior primary teeth. Clinicians will be confident to use MTA and to offer parents and children a new esthetic option for full coverage restorations for anterior and posterior primary teeth.
